The Journey Behind Every Jar

The Journey Behind Every Jar

Nepali Mann Udhyog was born from Timmur (Sichuan pepper), the bold Himalayan spice that gives our products their unmistakable, lingering taste.

But before it became a brand, it was a woman’s resilience.

In 2008, after facing repeated failures in business, Basu Maya Tamang returned to what she knew best, cooking with care, patience, and tradition.

I didn’t start with a plan to build a company. I started with what I knew and honest food made by hand.

In her home kitchen, she began preparing plain Timmur Chhop, made simply with powdered chilli and Himalayan timmur, following recipes passed down through generations.

Every jar we make follows the same values

All handmade processes, natural preservatives, and authentic Nepali recipes. The taste remains unchanged, shaped by patience and care.
If the taste is honest, people will return.

Today, Nepali Mann Udhyog reaches homes across Nepal and 26 countries worldwide, carrying a taste of home across borders.

Beyond the Jar, Empowering Women

Nepali Mann Udhyog is proudly women-led. For Basu Maya, growth has always meant lifting others — creating opportunities for women to learn skills, earn with dignity, and build confidence through work.
I believe women must step into the world, learn fearlessly, and build something of their own.
